Bristol is a barrel of laughs at the moment!

Following on from Sean Lock’s recent stand up performance at Colston Hall at the end of last month, Bristol has an outstanding comedy extravaganza lined up for us all over the next few weeks…

Firstly, for those looking for something to do this week, Bill Bailey will be at the Hippodrome until Thursday night. His new show “Limboland” will look at the gap between how we imagine our lives to be and how they really are and will of course include several musical numbers as are his trademark. Lots of laughs guaranteed and with some tickets still remaining (prices from £28.90), what a way to brighten up the week!

We’ll then see the arrival of Jimmy Carr at Colston Hall on Friday for the Bristol stop in his “The Best Of, Ultimate, Gold, Greatest Hits Tour”. Named as the ultimate comedy show, Jimmy has collated the very best jokes from his nine sell-out tours to create an evening of outrageous entertainment.

Next is our favourite cheeky chappy Rob Beckett who will be performing an extension of his “Mouth of the South” tour which sold so well last autumn that he added extra dates throughout the country. Rob will be at the Tobacco Factory in Southville on 23rd May and tickets are available online from £15.50 each. Rob is relatively new to the comedy circuit (we saw him only 5 years ago for the first time) but he is now a much loved regular across our TV screens and will be taking on big issues like Kit Kats and flatbread in this latest show which will have you giggling for days.

And finally, as if that wasn’t enough, the one and only legend that is Eddie Izzard will be in Bristol for one night on 27th May. Eddie will be at Colston Hall and as we all know he loves a challenge (he has very recently run 27 marathons in 27 days in aid of Sport Relief and raised over £2 million along the way…), he will be performing three shows in three languages for his “Force Majeure” act. The German show will be at 7pm, French at 8pm and English at 9pm – is there anything that the man cannot do?!

So no need to keep a straight face this month – we are well and truly on our way into summer and May is going to be full of laughs!
