Bristol Balloon Fiesta 2016: Bristol’s Best Viewpoints

The Bristol Balloon Fiesta is slowly creeping up on us – a much-anticipated weekend where Bristol’s skies are filled with balloons of all shapes, colours and sizes (and a guarantee of one or two giant minions!). Now in its 37th year, the four-day fiesta (6th – 9th August) is a perfect opportunity to pack a picnic and explore Bristol – but where’s the best spot to see the balloons? We’ve picked out our top places…

Ashton Court
The home sweet home of the Bristol Balloon Fiesta, Ashton Court is not just where all the balloons ascent from, it also offers fairground rides, food stalls and music stages! Get there early (and we mean early – 6am!) and you’ll witness the mass morning balloon lift-off or arrive late (6pm) and you’ll experience the stunning evening nightglow.

The White Lion
Located nice and close to the Sarah Kenny office, we know where we’ll be heading for a post work drink during the fiesta! The White Lion is in the middle of Avon Gorge, giving customers a flawless view of the Somerset Hills and the Suspension Bridge – the perfect spot to enjoy a drink or two and enjoy the view.

The Harbourside
Watch the balloons for a backdrop of iconic Bristol landmarks, SS Great Britain, The M Shed.. Take your pick! The Harbourside is a great spot to spend the day enjoying restaurants, bars and shopping while the balloons float above you.

The Sky!
Not the most affordable of options, but where better to enjoy the Balloon Fiesta view than from a wicker basket in the sky? Flight prices start from £200 per person and include a VIP service of in-flight photos and a glass of Prosecco – cheers to that!
