The Festival of Song began in 2010 and features many events bringing together over 3,000 singers across Bristol between the 11 and 21 October.
There are seven strands featuring a showcase of genres, styles, repertoires and workshop activities throughout the city.
The aim of the festival is to increase awareness of current singing activity in Bristol and is a mixture of both free and ticked events. The best bit is that many events are free, and everyone loves free, http://www.festivalofsong.org.uk/free-lunchtime/ as well as some ticketed venues from £5. In addition to a variety of workshops and walkabout performances around the harbourside and city centre, the numerous festival venues include Colston Hall, Bristol Cathedral and The Tobacco Factory, culminating in a 12 hour choral marathon in the beautiful acoustic of St George’s.
