Hurrah for neighbours (I don’t mean the Ozzie soap opera that has been relagated to Channel Five) and Pieminister

Due to the immense success of the street party that was held last year, it was decided that another would be held this year.  The weather was awful last year, but that didn’t deter us, with true Brit stoicism, a large canopy was erected, cakes were sold and many a pint were sunk!  So the St Johns Residents Association planned the latest event to be held today.  And what a glorious day, sadly I am manning the fort here at SK until 4pm, when I will be charging home to get involved.  (Although, to be honest, I don’t think I will be charging, more hobbling there, but that is another and very dull story.)  It started at noon and will finish later on, probably once the beer has been drunk, which sadly the other half supplied, so I am sure there is more than enough.

Ruby and White are very kindly doing a BBQ – fingers crossed, their pulled pork makes an appearance, and we have been lucky enough to win the Pieminster Prize Draw – they are supplying us with 300 pies, I just hope that there are some goodies left by the time I get there!

Kenneth, their wonderful van will be there, I wonder if romance will bloom between him and my little spotty Fiat……..

Thank you to all involved
