Bristol is home to Sustrans, which is the UK’s leading sustainable transport charity and is the UK’s first Cycling City. There are cycle routes on nearly all major roads and plenty of places to store your bike securely, as well as places to stay which accommodate your bike if you are visiting and pump it up if needed as well.
Quite simply Bristol caters to all your cycling needs, whether you live here or are just visiting.
Bristol is surrounded by fantastic countryside and not to mention the waterfront which is ideal for the amateur cyclist, as it is nice and level.
Sightseeing
You can do various tours around the city, ranging from group ones, or just hop on your bike and do the trail around Ashton Court, whichever takes your fancy.
If you fancy hiring a vintage bike, something a little bit different check out the Cycle the City website.
Bike hire is available from Cycle the City but there are various other places you can do this, Whiteladies Road, Mud Dock, which is also a restaurant overlooking the Harbourside and a cyclist dream shop or from Ashton Court.
