So, it looks like the sunshine is set to hit Bristol from Thursday onwards as we arrive well and truly into summer and the place to be for the next few weeks is without question down on the harbourside with two cracking events coming up…
Bristol Sounds: 26th – 30th June
Only one more day to go until things get underway with this brilliant series of open-air gigs at the Amphitheatre on Canons Marsh where you’ll see Tom Misch on Wednesday, The Cat Empire on Thursday, Bloc part on Friday, Elbow on Saturday and The Cinematic Orchestra on Sunday – and they’re only the headliners! Outdoors, overlooking the harbour, summer in the air…what more could you possibly want on a summers weekend???
Bristol Harbour Festival: 19th July – 21st July
Showcasing our amazing maritime heritage as it does each year, the Harbour Festival is one of the biggest events annual events for us here in Bristol with over 250,000 visitors every time…. With all sorts of entertainment going on throughout from the music stage (and main performance hub) at the Lloyds Amphitheatre, centre stage at Cascade Steps, the dockside stage from Thekla, the discovery stage and even the Brunel stage aboard the SS Great Britain there’ll be something going on to get everybody up and dancing.
Not up for music? Head to the water for events galore including visiting ships The Pelican and the Little Brig, jet ski stunts, super yachts, the hilarious cardboard boat race as well as dressed up vessels of all shapes and sizes parading throughout.
And as if that wasn’t enough, make your way to Millennium Square for dance shows of every genre imaginable, poetry and recitals on Cathedral Walk and of course both the Circus Playground and the AMAZING continental food market on Queen Square (where if you’ve never been before, you’ll find some of the very best market food with stalls coming from France, Spain, Germany and more).
Summer is here and #TeamSK are READY!
