Ever wondered how Aardman make their incredible animations? Then look no further than the Animating Early Man exhibition which is now running until November down at M Shed.
From the talented team who brought us Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Chicken Run, Early Man tells the story of caveman Dug and his sidekick Hognob who unite with their tribe to beat the mighty Bronze Age at football. Early Man opened in cinemas last year and our very own Aardman Animations who are based here in Bristol (and have won a whopping four Academy Awards for their outstanding work) are now giving us a chance to step behind the camera and see how stop-animation works.
Featuring original puppets, crafted sets, tiny props and behind the scenes footage there is plenty to see and you’ll find out just how their creations make it from sketch books onto the silver screen. You’ll also see right inside of their most complex puppet to date – the woolly mammoth!
Aardman have brought us some of the nation’s most loved characters and we think this sounds like a fab way to get to know more about them. Check out M Shed’s website for full details and make sure you get your tickets booked!
