Last week we got to know a little bit more about our superstar negotiator Lydia and today she’s telling us all about her favourite places to eat in Bristol…
“There are a wide variety of places to eat in Bristol – from burger joints to secret cocktail bars, you are guaranteed to find somewhere to satisfy the craziest of cravings somewhere in this colourful city.
For quick delicious food, my most visited restaurant is “In the Bowl Ramen” (previously Sticks ‘n’ Broth) on Baldwin Street. Without fail, no matter how much I peruse the menu, I will always go for the house brisket and so far it has never disappointed! This is a lovely laid back restaurant with the kitchen in view of the diners and lots of funky paintings and drawings on the walls – a firm favourite. Staff here are all really friendly, service is quick and the portions are pretty big!
Also on Baldwin Street, another regular eatery of mine is “Aquila”, a very popular Italian restaurant that doesn’t keep you waiting too long for your meal (always a bonus in my book). Being a creature of habit, once I know what I like I will have it every time and at Aquila it’s the beef ragu balls and pistachio prawn fusilli. It is never difficult to get a table here and their cocktail list is pretty yummy too!
If in search of something a bit more hands on, “Three Brothers Burgers” on Welsh Back is a great choice for gourmet fast food. Whatever you order here, be sure to get it with a side of their fried onions as they are second to none! You never need to book a table at this one and they have an extensive beer, cider, wine and shakes menu to meet all tastes – a MUST!
Once finished with your main course and ready to get to the really good stuff, just a five minute walk away at the bottom of Park Street is “Swoon”, one of the most mouth-watering gelaterias I’ve ever known. Frequented by many of the Sarah Kenny staff, we cannot get enough of the stuff and they have a vegan menu too. Gelato really does not get better than this one and Swoon is the perfect treat for any occasion!”
Feeling hungry? Where will you head to first?!
