Set in a northern mining town against the background of the 80s miners’ strikes, Billy Elliot is a beautiful story of a young boy’s struggle against the odds to make his dreams come true. Whilst his Dad has his heart on Billy becoming a boxer, Billy stumbles into a ballet class and unexpectedly discovers a passion for dance that changes his life entirely.
