So, the clocks have gone forward and we are now officially into spring (although it may not feel like it this morning!) With the days now getting longer and the summer sunshine on its way, here are some great ways to spend your days in Bristol at this time of year…
Enjoy a stroll in one of Bristol’s 400 parks and gardens. The city has outdoor spaces throughout and between them they include playgrounds, wildlife, nature reserves, rivers, lakes…and much more! Something to do for everybody and you really can’t beat a picnic on a nice sunny day.
Get exercising outside! Whether you are into biking, walking, running or even outdoor fitness classes, getting your heart racing in the great outdoors is a brilliant way to begin the new season. To clear your mind, try going for a jog through Ashton Court, mountain biking in the beautiful Leigh Woods or signing up to the ever popular boot camp classes on the Downs.
Visit Brandon Hill for a nature walk. Managed by the Avon Wildlife Trust, Brandon Hill is a haven for wildlife and wildflowers and boasts incredible views over the city. For those feeling a little more energetic, you can climb to the top of Cabot Tower also for a viewpoint which is well worth all of the steps to get up there!
Any keen walkers amongst you? Do not miss out on Bristol Walk Fest 2016! Throughout the whole of May, discover the best walks that Bristol and its surrounding areas have to offer with over 150 different trails throughout the city open to participants.
Make footprints in the sand along the beautiful North Somerset coastline. One of our favourite coastal paths is one which runs between Portishead and Clevedon and takes you past a multitude of sights over six miles.
Take a boat around the harbourside. Bristol looks just fab on a sunny day and a boat trip is a lovely way to take in some of the city’s sights along the waterfront.
And that is just to name a few! Spring is a wonderful season and we live in a wonderful, vibrant city to be able to make the most of it…time to get our shoes on!
