Now, nobody really likes to brag but when you live somewhere as FABULOUS as Bristol it’s just so hard not to! We’ve already been the lucky winners of the capital of sport, Green Capital, one of the top ten cities in the world to visit, the UK’s healthiest city and just this week, we have made it onto the National Geographic’s “Cool List” for 2018!
Bristol joins some incredible destinations on the list which reveals “the coolest haunts, the hippest hangouts, the bucket list breaks and the enthralling escapes…” and we have even beaten the likes of Paris, Mauritius and Abu Dhabi!
Read the full list here where National Geographic Traveller writes “Is there a British city with a more indie spirit? From its lauded restaurants serving up local flavours to the break-beat heartbeat of its rudely healthy music scene, Bristol is an offbeat city ever on the rise. Its dockside regeneration — still artfully ongoing after 20 years — is currently one of Europe’s largest redevelopment projects. Yes, it’s still home to pretty Georgian terraces, the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge and Brunel’s SS Great Britain. But this is a city that’s gone from colonial-era industrial savvy to leftfield creativity. And nowhere is this more apparent than in its food scene. Bristol is being touted as the best place to eat outside London, with seven new entries in this year’s The Good Food Guide.”
The new entries in the Good Food Guide for anybody looking to visit are Box-E in Cargo 1, Tare at Cargo 2, The Cauldron in St Werburgh’s (I have been to this one and can highly recommend it!), Paco Tapas and Pi Shop at the General, Pasta Loco on Cotham Hill and Hart’s Bakery at Temple Meads (this one is at the very top of my list to try during the Christmas break!)
So, as our fantastic food and drink scene does it again…Bristol, we could not be prouder!
