The wonderful Roald Dahl was one of the world’s best ever storytellers and this year is extremely exciting as we will be celebrating 100 years since his birth on 13th September 2016.
There will be events lined up across the country for Roald Dahl 100 and we are pleased to say that Bristol’s Watershed will be taking part too with screenings of cult classics such as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Witches, Fantastic Mr Fox, Matilda and of course this year’s latest release, The BFG.
In addition to Dahl’s much loved creations being shown on screen, there will also be a Book Den set up in the café area where comfy seats and copies of his superb books will be available for both children and adults alike! There will be a host of other family friendly activities in the Den too (all completely free of charge) including chocolate illustration, finger puppets, costume making and much more – what a treat for the summer holidays!
Film tickets are just £6.50 for adults and £4.50 for children and concessions.
As a HUGE fan of this iconic children’s author, I have all of the books I grew up with at the ready and cannot wait to rediscover the splendiferous Dahl delights of my younger years over the summer. Happy reading everybody!
