Caring in Bristol is a brilliant charity. They are an organisation “striving to create a society where everyone has a home, has hope and is part of their community” and run a number of projects across the city to help as many people in need as they can.
Amongst numerous missions they have in place for the homeless is the wonderful Caring at Christmas which will be returning next month and taking over both the Trinity Centre and Julian Trust Night Shelter from 23rd December 2019 – 1st January 2020. Throughout this time Caring in Bristol will be providing food and shelter to those struggling with what can be an incredibly difficult time of year for them and have teamed up with some of our top restaurants to do so.
As part of the scheme, owners of local eateries have been invited to create a seven-day restaurant level menu which is zero waste also and some of the participants are said to include Pasta Loco, Pearly King, Box-E, Pony & Trap Group, Bravas, Poco and Tare amongst others. They will be teaming up with food charity Fareshare to use surplus food to create special dishes for some of Bristol’s most vulnerable and in addition to food and shelter there will be emotional and medical support on hand as well as advice, company, different activities and a welcoming atmosphere for everybody too.
Caring in Bristol are looking for volunteers if anyone would like to register or donate and full details can be found online by clicking here.
Another fantastic charity event which makes us proud to live in this kind-hearted city of ours…
