Mshed is the obvious place to go if you want to learn more about Bristol. It has loads of information in the building, including some about my own relative, Henry Jones, who amazingly invented self raising flour in Bristol, and I am not even a born Bristolian! It also has amazing views across the water and is a very interesting building in itself, well worth a visit.
