Strawberries? Check. Cream? Check. Enough Pimms and fizz to last the next few weeks? Already chilling in the fridge! This can mean only one thing – Queen’s and Wimbledon are just around the corner…
The Aegon Championships are set to take place from 19th – 25th June where Queen’s Club will see a star-studded line up to include Federer, Del Potro, Kyrgios, Raonic, Nadal, Warwrinka, Dimitrov and of course our very own Andy Murray (who incidentally is now through to the semi final of Roland Garros this week).
Following Queen’s, The Championships at Wimbledon will then be held from 3rd – 16th July. Over the course of these two weeks we’ll see the world’s best players grace our screens in one of the most renowned international tennis tournaments. Whether you most enjoy singles, doubles, men’s, ladies or mixed, Wimbledon has something for everyone and is a great way to get another fantastic summer of sport kicked off on the BBC.
Murray won a record fifth title at Queen’s last year and then Wimbledon for a second time just a few weeks later before finishing the year as World No.1 so we have high hopes for him this year, however, with Federer on a major winning streak so far for 2017 it looks like he’ll have his work cut out. Centre and Number One court, we’ve missed you and are very much looking forward to having you back!
