Prepare yourselves for another weekend of action people as the Bristol Harbour Festival returns once again to celebrate our wonderful maritime heritage.
For those of you who have not been before, the Harbour Festival is set to run from 21st-23rd July this year and is one of the UK’s largest public festivals.
Kicking things off on the Friday evening will be a special performance at the Lloyd’s Amphitheatre to mark Colston Hall’s 150th anniversary. The Outlook Orchestra are set to perform a 100 minute live mix coupled with a full live set from the one and only Roots Manuva amongst a host of other guests.
The rest of the weekend will be made up of a multitude of activities including various circus and street theatre acts organised by Cirque Bijou (look out for them and their children’s activity spots in Castle Park), musical performances, food and drinks galore but of the course the star of the show will be, as always, our fantastic Harbour.
Do not miss the three tall ships that will be returning home to their registered port of Bristol, The Kaskelot, The Earl of Pembroke and The Phoenix. As some of the largest remaining wooden ships in commission, these ones are well worth exploring whilst they are moored here in our wonderful city! In addition to these beauties will be over 250 vessels of all shapes and sizes including training boats from The Royal Navy and of course our local favourites, The Matthew, SS Great Britain and our fantastic colourful ferries.
A weekend filled with fun and one which is truly unique to us here in the south west – make sure you get to Queen Square for some great food and enjoy one of the city’s most popular events.
