Now, anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE a bit of musical theatre so it is with much excitement that I tell you about some of the incredible shows that are on their way to the Hippodrome over the next few weeks…
Saturday Night Fever
Yes, the 1977 John Travolta will be hitting our stage this week from today until Saturday. Some of the best disco music ever written with classics from the Bee Gees including Stayin’ Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Night Fever, Tragedy, More Than A Woman, Saturday Night Fever is the story of Tony Manero who wants to escape Brooklyn as he embarks on a rocky road to dancing success.
I’m away at the moment and am a bit gutted to be missing this one as the soundtrack sounds set to have the whole audience on their feet!
Whitney – Queen of the Night
Showing for one night only on 14th October, this is a celebration of the music and life of one of the greatest singers of our time – the incredible Whitney Houston. With a career spread over three decades, this two hour production will include all of her most classic hits and pays tribute to the unbelievable legend that she was so for those who have tickets, make sure you have your singing voices at the ready.
Jersey Boys
One of my absolute favourite shows – I have already seen it twice and am currently trying to persuade my husband to come back with me to see it again! Winner of 57 major awards, Jersey Boys tells the true story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, four boys who wrote their own songs, invented their own sound and went on to sell over 100 million records worldwide. Beggin’, December 1963, Walk Like A Man, Ragdoll, Big Girls Don’t Cry to name but a few, I just cannot put into words how BRILLIANT this show is! Both times I have been, we have all been up and dancing away for the encore at the end…and absolute corker and a definite must if you haven’t seen it yet.
Bristol Hippodrome, what a way to kick things off for the autumn…what would we ever do without you?!
