Any other Bake Off fans out there? If so, you’ll know and love Nadiya Hussain who won back in 2015. Since then she has gone on to write some brilliant cook books (her British Food Adventure is HIGHLY recommended as is her chocolate hazelnut mousse recipe currently online here) and has presented several cooking shows too and on Friday we’ll be lucky enough to have her in Bristol to celebrate the release of her latest book “Finding My Voice”.
Starting at 7.30pm on 18th October at St George’s (just off of Park Street), Nadiya will be interviewed on stage to discuss her many roles as a mother, Muslim, working woman, TV presenter…and many more. She’ll be looking into the barriers that many women face in today’s society and discussing how roles are assigned by gender, culture and religion also. Each chapter of the book deals with a different aspect of herself and on Friday she’ll be here to explain how at the core of it all, we are essentially tackling the same issues at multiple stages in our lives despite our many differences.
Ticket prices include a pre-signed copy of the book to take away and this looks set to be a fantastically empowering evening ladies so make sure you have a look online to get your tickets booked!
