So, Christmas is over, 2018 is underway and with the New Year usually comes resolutions. New Year’s Resolutions are a great idea and can be a good way of setting personal targets or goals to work towards, however there has also been much talk online recently about how this can actually have the complete opposite effect and make people feel pressured if they then aren’t able to achieve what they set out for.
Barclaycard have teamed up with blog writer Giovanna Fletcher this month and have a lovely idea – rather than thinking of what you would like to stop this year, why not focus on new things that you would like to start instead? The Barclaycard 31 Day Challenge might be a lot to fit in with new activities for every day (although Giovanna is also an author and mum of two young boys so she is going to show how new hobbies can be squeezed into a jam packed schedule too) but I thought that the idea of starting something positive rather than stopping something maybe a little negative was just brilliant.
So, what will your choices be??! Start small and it does not have to be daily – try something new or do something you have been meaning to do forever maybe once a month and 2018 looks set to be a great one! Read more books, spend more time outside, make time for listening to your favourite music, book a table at that special restaurant, organise a catch up with friends you have not seen in a long time – and these are the easy ones! The list of positive resolutions is endless and for the more adventurous amongst you there are of course plenty out there too…
Happy New Year everybody – we are looking forward to it already!
