So back in May, team Sarah Kenny took part in the Bristol 10k to raise money for charity and we are delighted to say that on Sunday 17th September we will once again be putting our running shoes on for the Great Bristol Half Marathon.
First held back in 1989, the half marathon is now a firmly placed event within the national running calendar which sees over 10,000 participants sign up to give it their all each year.
The course will start on Anchor Road to head out through Hotwells, onto the Portway, underneath the Suspension Bridge and then back towards the city centre via Spike Island. With the final four miles around the heart of Bristol passing pretty sights such as Queens Square, the St Mary Redcliffe and Castle Park, the finish line and its welcoming crowds will then be just outside of the aquarium.
This is our first 13.1 mile challenge ever and training has been tough, but with our place numbers which arrived a few days back we are feeling ready to go. We are proud to be raising funds for Cancer Research UK once more and hope to see some of you there cheering us all on…GO TEAM SK!
