It’s funny how a whole year can pass by so quickly, yet here we are again and it’s the beginning of all things festive here in the south west!
With Christmas lights switched on in different locations across the city last week, we shall see the return of Broadmead’s Christmas market in the next couple of weeks also. Celebrating its seventh year, the market will run from 2nd to 23rd December and will include around 20 colourful wooden chalets offering a wide array of treats and gifts from local independent producers.
The theme of the market is “Made in Bristol” and as the name suggests, it supports and celebrates all things local, particularly the small businesses, artists and makers that our great city is home to. With a wonderful array of local cheeses and ciders, craft beers, Christmas cakes and patisserie, handmade chocolate, fudge, arts and prints, jams, preserves…and these to name but a few, you are guaranteed to find lovely, unique gifts at great prices throughout (and some brilliant snacks to try along the way too!)
Also back up and running is At-Bristol’s ice rink in Millennium Square. Give ice skating a whirl on real ice underneath the giant bauble and enjoy something a bit different with friends and family this year.
The ice rink will be open every day from now until 1st January and sessions need to be booked. There are even Disco Boots sessions every evening where you can shake your groove thing on the winter’s coolest dance floor at the same time!
You can’t beat the Christmas atmosphere in town at this time of year…and there is still plenty more to come over the next few weeks!
