If any of you are as big a fan of this classic Disney film as I am, then you’ll know exactly what those words mean…that’s right, Mary Poppins will be blowing into Bristol from London’s West End as part of her UK tour.
The Hippodrome will be showing this wonderful adaptation of PL Travers story of the world’s favourite Nanny until Saturday 28th November 2015 (first showings began last week). The musical version of this family classic is now multi-award winning and promises audiences a show full of dazzling choreography, incredible effects and most importantly – unforgettable songs!
Join an outstanding cast in the story of how the magical Mary Poppins transforms the lives of the Banks family at 17 Cherry Tree Lane. Dancing chimney sweeps, spoons full of sugar, an amazing plot and absolutely unbeatable music – what more could you want? For anybody that has already booked tickets, you’re in for an evening that is sure to be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
And as if that wasn’t enough for all of you, the Hippodrome will be showing stage adaptations of both Sleeping Beauty and Snow White over the next few months too.
Snow White is first up and has been produced for this year’s Panto. Running from 5th December 2015 – 3rd January 2016, TV and film star Warwick Davis will be heading the cast as head dwarf Prof. A seasonal must see for all of the family, this panto promises lots of laughs and also a pantomime debut for Shaun the Sheep himself!
Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty will then run from 1st-5th March 2016 and sees him return to the music of Tchaikovksy to complete his trio of ballet masterworks which include Nutcracker and Swan Lake. A different twist on the Sleeping Beauty tale that we all know, this rewrite is a Gothic Romance – a supernatural love story for all ages about a girl cursed to sleep for 100 years…
It’s all happening down at the Hippodrome so get booking tickets here and join in the fun for this winter.
