Upfest 2016: Europe’s Largest Street Art Festival launches in Bristol

Cementing Bristol’s reputation as a hub of renowned street art and graffiti, the largest street art festival in Europe launches this Saturday! Transforming over a kilometre of North Street, Bedminster will be unrecognisable this weekend (Saturday 23rd July – Monday 25th July) with 300 celebrated urban artists revealing their artistic talents. There’s not just plenty of art inspiration, Upfest also includes an array of music stages, workshops and the opportunity to purchase artwork at an affordable art sale.

This year promises to be have the most diverse urban artwork collection that ever before with the festival showcasing artists from over 40 countries including well-known Bristol-based artist Gemma Compton. Now in its ninth year, the festival is expecting an astounding 30,000 visitors across the weekend. Amazingly, the festival has been entirely crowdfunded from local supporters – which means the festival is free to attend!

Some of our favourite venues are involved including the Hen & Chicken, Spotted Cow and the Tobacco Factory – so there’s no excuse not to pop down grab a drink and wander through this impressive weekend festival.
